Betty Welch

Betty B. Welch, 87, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Stanly Manor in Albemarle.

Mrs. Welch was born March 30, 1933 to the late Guy Edney and Mary Idell Faggart Barringer. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lorain Welch; sisters, Irene Greene, Doris Barringer, Ruth Barringer, Dora Byrd, Pearl Tucker and brothers, George Barringer, Clyde Barringer, Woodrow Wilson Barringer.

Betty retired from the Stanly County School System as a teacher. She enjoyed sewing and has blessed many people throughout the years with her lap quilts.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 3:00 pm, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 17236 Frog Pond Road, Oakboro, officiated by Rev. Shad Hicks.

Betty is survived by daughter, Nancy (Gene) Swaringen of New London, NC; son, Derrick (Angie) Welch of China Grove, NC; son, Earl Welch of Red Cross, NC; son, Larry Welch of Red Cross, NC; grandchildren, Dusty Swaringen, Devon Yanochik, Mackenzie Welch; great-granddaughters, Olive Marie Yanochik, Violet Jane Yanochik; sister, Eyvonne Shue; brother, Wayne Barringer.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Stanly Manor and Hospice of Cabarrus County for their loving care of their mother.
