Darrell Morgan

May 9, 1958 — January 26, 2018

Darrell James Morgan, 59, of Stanfield, went home to heaven on January 26, 2018 at his home, wrapped in the love of his family.  A man of faith, wisdom and unlimited curiosity and creativity, Darrel leaves behind many who will miss him daily and cherish his memory.

He was born May 9, 1958 in Cabarrus County to John Ellis Morgan, Sr. and Ollie Mae King Morgan.  Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother, John Ellis Morgan, Jr. (Johnny).

The visitation will be at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland, on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 30, at 11:00am at Howell's Baptist Church at 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord, NC. The burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Darrell leaves behind a loving family including his wife of 35 years, Kelly Burleson Morgan; daughter, Kisha (Tommy) Wallace; son, John "Daniel" Morgan; three grandchildren, Eli, Ethan, and Elizabeth Wallace, all of Stanfield; sisters, Jeanette (Jerry) Hartsell of Midland, and Diane Carter of Port Orange, FL; brothers, Avery (Pam) Morgan, and Jame' (Tammy) Morgan, both of Midland; as well as 14 nieces and nephews.

Darrell graduated from Central Cabarrus High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte.  He worked at Philip Morris in Concord for 22 years and was later employed by UNC Charlotte.  He could fix anything electrical or mechanical and selflessly used his talents to help others.

Darrell loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, biking, kayaking, CB radios, and taking care of Sammy, his best friend and guard dog.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Darrell's memory to Howell's Baptist Church, 3800 Baptist Lane, Concord, NC 28025.
