Doris Hinson

Doris Helms Hinson, 91, of Indian Trail, NC, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at Clear Creek Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Mint Hill.

Doris was born February 17, 1927 in Mecklenburg County, NC, to the late Joe Lee Helms and the late Myrtle Adeline Crowell Helms.
She was also preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Guy Nelson Hinson.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Monday at 1:00 pm at the Hopewell Baptist Church Legacy Campus in Monroe and will be officiated by Rev. Brian Austin. Burial will follow at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery at 420 Hopewell Church Rd., Monroe.

Survivors include six children, Brenda (Irwin) Pinion of Midland, Ronnie Hinson of Mint Hill, Alvin (Lisa) Hinson of Indian Trail, Danny (Debbie) Hinson of Indian Trail, Tommy (Judy) Hinson of Indian Trail, Barbara (David, 1952-2010) Crowell of Indian Trail; seven siblings, Juanita (Harry) Godfrey, Carolyn Fowler, Helen Barnhardt, James (Phyllis) Helms, Paul (Bernice) Helms, Sarah (Steve) Swink; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
