Jerry Brafford, Sr

Jerry Mack Brafford, Sr., 81, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at The Greens at Cabarrus in Concord.

Jerry was born August 26, 1941 in Cabarrus County to the late Mack and Belle Brafford.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delorise "Det" Brafford; son, Jerry Mack Brafford, Jr.

Jerry loved being a truck driver for many years and also enjoyed working with Jerry Jr's roofing company.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed picking on his grandchildren.  He enjoyed working on cars and watching westerns and racing, especially NASCAR and supporting his grandson, Shane while racing at Concord Motor Speedway.  Most of all, Jerry was a wonderful daddy, brother, and PaPaw.

Survivors include son, Grady (Miranda) Brafford of Concord; brother, Danny (Maryann) Brafford of Florida; brother, Roger (Martha) Brafford of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Robin (Bill) Clemons of New London; grandchildren; Shane Brafford, Amanda (Rick) Poplin, Kayla (Cory) Johnson, and Matthew Brafford; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 12:45 pm, Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord.  The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Bo Sherrill.  Jerry will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis during a private committal service at a later date.
