John Wellington Kissinger, 66 years of age, of Red Cross, NC, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at his home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. John was born May 4, 1948 in Tabor City, NC to the late John Carl Kissinger and the late Myrtis Kissinger. He was also preceded in death by brother, Ronald "Rocky" Kissinger. Survivors include wife, Dianne Tribble of Red Cross; daughter, Karen (Jay) Muma of Indian Trail; grandchildren, William Dotson and Jayson Muma; sisters, Sandy Rhodes, Carolyn Yoder, and Georgette Kissinger; and numerous other family members. John was a USMC Radio Relay Operator from March 1968 - March 1970 He served in one tour in Vietnam. He enjoyed classic cars, boating, horseback riding, and motorcycles. He had a great heart and personality and will certainly be missed. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Friday, May 30, 2014 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Red Cross Baptist Church at 112 W. Red Cross Rd., Oakboro, NC and will be officiated by Rev. Joshua Fraley.
