Nina Power

Nina Mae Power, 90 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Carrington Place in Matthews surrounded by loved ones.

Mrs. Power was born September 12, 1927 in Mills County, TX to the late William Carroll Cody and the late Emma Cordelia Lawson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Paul Power.

Nina Mae is treasured for her energized and strong spirit, her kind and generous soul, and for her love and dedication to her family and friends. She leaves behind a revered legacy of love and admiration by so many who were heartened by her presence.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:45 P.M., Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral mass will follow at 1:00 P.M. at Annunciation Catholic Church, located at 416 North Second Street in Albemarle, officiated by Father Peter Fitzgibbons. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory located at 2001 East Main Street, Albemarle.

Survivors include daughters, Judie Trudel and husband Mike of Stanfield and Julia Aten and husband Kirk of Locust; sons, Joseph Power of Stanfield and Bill Power of New Britain; grandchildren, Caitlin Pyrek and fiancé Justin, Leah Litaker and husband Matt, Ryan Morrissette, Bryant Morrissette, Kody Aten and wife Lindsey, Nick Pyrek and wife Rachel; great-grandchildren, Fenton and Harlan Litaker, and Karter Aten.

The family would like to thank the staff of Carrington Place for your love and dedication of care to Nina. Thank you for loving her and making her a part of your family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nina’s name to her favorite charities of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Anthony’s Bread for the Poor.
