Roy Etchison, Jr.

Roy Francis Etchison, Jr - formerly of Monroeville, PA passed away in Charlotte, NC on Saturday, November 5, 2022 in the afternoon surrounded by his family.

He was born in Pittsburgh, PA of Allegheny County on June 26, 1965 to the late Roy Francis Etchison, Sr and Harriet Allen Etchison. He graduated in 1983 from Gateway Senior High School and served in the US Navy. He married Michelle (Marish) Etchison on March 21, 1987. His career began in the US Navy where he served from 1983-1988 as an Electricians Mate (E5) and then went on to use his knowledge to further his career 1988-2022 as an In-Home Service Repair Technician taking care of family, friends and customers alike either over the phone or in person until his passing.

One of his greatest achievements was being a father to his beloved son Christopher, and enjoyed having him close by. He loved his wife of 35 years, and they shared many years of wonderful memories together. He also enjoyed hosting his family and friends for barbecues and get-togethers on the back deck. He loved to fish in his pond, and ride around the property on his Kubota.

Survivors include his loving wife Michelle Marish Etchison, and son Christopher Roy; his mother, Harriet Allen Etchison; his sisters Cindy Lou Cinotto of Charlotte, NC, Terri Dawn Shimshock and husband Matthew of Fairview, NC; and his seven nieces and nephews, Courtney Martorella and husband Pete and great niece Emma, Matthew, Christina Kacaj and husband Franc, Hannah, and Andrew Shimshock; in-laws William and Patsy Marish Jr.; and brother-in-law William J. Marish, III.

Funeral Services will be at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr NE. Concord, NC 28026 on Friday November 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm with Steve and Brandy Hargett presiding. Family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home on Thursday November 10th from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

In Lieu of Flowers a Memorial Contribution may be given to your local Veterans Association in his Honor.
