Adam Morgan

Adam Wilson Morgan, age 87 of 10517 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, passed away on November 06, 2010 at Jesse Helms Nursing Center in Monroe. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, on Sunday from 4 to 6. Funeral will be at Philadelphia Baptist Church, Stanfield, on Monday at 4 PM with a 30 minute state. Rev. Dwight Mabry and Rev. George Gouge will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Born in Union County on May 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Dewey Clyde Morgan and the late Bertie Mae Brooks Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Morgan Whitley in 2006. He was a fifth generation farmer, continuing the family profession until recent years on the 170 year old family farm. He is survived by 3 nephews; John Whitley and wife Saundra of Monroe, James Whitley and wife Dean, and Leon Whitley and wife Cindy, all of Monroe; 3 great nieces and 1 great nephew; 3 great grand nieces and a special neighbor, Roger Fred Drake.
