Addie Bell Tucker Polk, 81, of Monroe, passed away, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center Union in Monroe. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2012 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm. at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 7920 Crooked Creek Church Rd. in Monroe. The service will follow at 2:00 pm with Elder Richard Broadway and Elder Larry Austin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. At other times, the family will meet at her home. She was born on August 6, 1931 in Union County, NC to the late Adam Millard Tucker and Lizzie Louvina Kiker Tucker. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Tucker. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Fred Thomas Polk, who were married on Valentines Day in 1947. She is also survived by her two daughters, Judy Medlin and husband Zack, and Peggy Pressley both of Monroe; brother, Houston Tucker of Stanfield; sister, Betty Mullis of Locust; three grandchildren, Kirk and Alan Medlin, Marty Pressley; and two great-grandchildren, Tamsen Medlin and Maddy Pressley. Addie loved to bake, paint, sew and garden. She enjoyed life and being with her family. She was a faithful member of Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
