Aggie Nora McCall, 79, of Charlotte (formerly of McColl, SC), passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Novant Harris Hospice, Charlotte.
Aggie was born March 21, 1938 in Bennettsville, SC to the late John Daniel McCall and Zilpha Elizabeth Bryant McCall of McColl, SC. She graduated Mars Hill College and Flora McDonald College with a BA in primary education. She taught kindergarten and first grade for 35 years in the Fayetteville city and Cumberland County school systems. Aggie's passion for teaching brightened her life as she watched young students learn and grow. Aggie never met a stranger. She loved people, especially children. She was a wonderful listener to both friends and family. She enjoyed both writing and receiving handwritten notes.
Until her health began to fail, Aggie was an active and faithful member of McColl First Baptist Church, McColl, SC. She moved to Charlotte to live with her sister, who became her caregiver. Aggie was a former member of Newell Baptist Church and current member of Pritchard Memorial Baptist Church.
Aggie was a loving and devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She loved and cherished her family. Her smile, the twinkle in her eye, and her everlasting love will be a treasured memory for all, especially her great niece and nephew, Isabella and Camden McCall, who were her heart and soul.
Survivors include sister, Joncie Lou McCall of Charlotte, NC; brother, William James McCall, and wife Carol Williams McCall of Oak Island, NC; nephew, Johnathan Markus McCall and wife, Judy Lippman McCall, and their children, Isabella and Camden McCall, all of Charlotte, NC; and special pet companion, Izzy, who was always at her side looking out for her.
A memorial service will be held on February 24th at 2:00 PM at Pritchard Memorial Baptist, 1117 South Blvd, Charlotte, with Rev. Bobby Morrow and Rev. Stan Heiser officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Aggie will be laid to rest by her parents and other McCall family members at Red Bluff Cemetery, Marlboro County, SC, at a later date.
Many thanks goes out to family and friends for their good thoughts, words, deeds and prayers. They truly brightened her days throughout the years. A special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Novant Health and Harris Hospice for the compassionate care they provided not only to Aggie, but also to her family.
