Agnes Francis Hall Blalock, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
Born on November 18, 1918, she was the daughter of Pattie Parker and Robert Hall of Montgomery County, NC.
Her surviving family includes her daughter Susan and her husband Jeff Becker, granddaughter Roxanne Becker of Raleigh, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding Agnes in death are her husband of 53 years, Robert Blalock, their infant daughter Patricia, four brothers, three sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Agnes cherished her upbringing in a hard-working Christian family, who despite the Depression was able to thrive and help those in need. They were members of Chandler's Grove Methodist Church, and Agnes graduated from New London High School. She moved to Albemarle, employed by Wiscassett Mills, and married Robert in 1940, who served in US Navy during WWII.
Agnes and Robert built their home in Albemarle surrounded by family and neighbors. She joined Robert as a member of First Baptist Church where they enjoyed many years of service and fellowship. Agnes was chairman of Bereavement Committee, and they both shared in care-giving of aging family members and friends. Over the last several years, Agnes made home at Taylor House in Albemarle, and then at StoneRidge Retirement in Cary. She and her family were blessed by the staff and residents of both communities.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 12:00 PM, at Fairview Memorial Park, 1425 East Main St., Albemarle, NC., officiated by Rev. Jacob Waldrip.
