Agnes Carriker

Agnes Howell Carriker, 95, of Midland, passed away on September 7, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC. She was born on September 1, 1918 in Mecklenburg County to the late Darlin "Doll" Ervin Howell and Mary Tursey Biggers Howell. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Carriker, daughter Susan Carriker Eudy, brothers, Glenn, Thaddeus, and Edd Howell. Mrs. Carriker graduated from Fairview High School as valedictorian of her class. She was a faithful member of Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church. She was a bookkeeper, and also loved gardening and quilting. A visitation will be held at Dulin's Grove Advent Christian Church on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 10 until 11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM, with Rev. Matthew Broadway and Rev. Brent Carpenter officiating. The family will have a private burial in the church cemetery. At other times the family will be meeting at the home of her son, Joe Carriker. She is survived by her son, Joseph Carriker and wife Jeanese; granddaughter, Jodie Edwards and husband Phillip; grandson, Michael Eudy and wife Christina; and great-granddaughter, Emma Edwards.
