Mrs. Agnes Eloise Trent Hays-Swanekamp, 83 of 2108 Moss Creek Drive Harrisburg, NC passed away at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Born on January 19, 1927 in Logan County, West Virginia to the late William Sherman Trent and the late Garnet Leona DeLung Trent, also preceded in death by her husband Clayton Curtiss Hays, Jr., brother Chadwick Trent and sisters Patricia Henderson Mullis and Dolores Marchant. Agnes was a member of New Grace Baptist Church a member of The Christian Womens Club. She was Chaplain for NARFE, an avid gardener, a seamstress, and she also enjoyed reading. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 6 until 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at New Grace Baptist Church Concord, NC on Monday, March 22, 2010 at 11 AM following a 30 Min. state, with the Rev. Allen Montgomery officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Cedar Hill Funeral Home 4111 Pennsylvania Avenue Suitland, Maryland from 11 AM until 12:30 PM, funeral services will follow in the chapel at 1 PM, with the Rev. Michael A. Reid and the Rev. Allen Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at The Washington National Cemetery. Survived by: sons, Roger Stanley Hays and wife Paraskevoula of Bethesda, MD., Rodney Dennis Hays of Harrisburg. Memorials may be made to New Grace Baptist Church PO Box 567 Concord, NC 28026 or to Alzheimers Association 3800 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC 28215.
