Aileen Huskey

Aileen Efird Huskey, 88, left this earth gently and easily on Monday, August 13, 2018 to join her loved ones in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Walter Howard Huskey, her parents, Sarah Burris and Simeon Jason Efird, as well five sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Shirey, son-in-law, Don Shirey, granddaughter, Erika Hannon, three great-grandchildren, Molly, Chase and Noah Hannon and one brother, Eugene Efird.

Born in Stanfield NC, she lived the majority of her life in Charlotte NC.  She graduated from North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton, NC and was a long time member of First Baptist Church and their Silent Class.  She was also a member of Deafolinas senior citizens group.  She greatly enjoyed any occasion to meet and talk with friends.  She always had a smile and was much loved by all.

A celebration of Aileen's life will be held Saturday, August 18th from 3 to 6 pm. at Hartsell Funeral Home, 460 Branchview Dr, Concord NC 28026.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that contributions be made in her name to Deafolinas, 324 N Canterbury Dr, Charlotte NC 28211.
