Albert Welch

Albert Wayne Welch, 70 years of age, of Charlotte, passed away Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home.

Wayne was born May 16, 1944 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Richard Henderson Welch and the late Theo Essie Lea Bearden Birch. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Dickie" Welch, and Terry Welch; his sister, Nancy Davidson.

The family will receive friends Monday, February 23, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Cheryl Ann Gibbon Welch of Charlotte; sons, John Welch and fiancée Madison of Charlotte, Jeff Welch and fiancée Melissa of Concord, Justin Welch and wife Starla of Concord; daughter, Debra Perez and husband Eddie of New Braunfels, TX; adopted daughter Michelle Pinto and husband Kevin; grandchildren, Tatiana, Grace, Landon, Hailey, Nora, Jeffrey Jr., Liam; two grandchildren on the way, Mia and Kensley; brother, Lowell Welch; sisters, Donna Loomis, Paulette Peck, Kozette Welch, mother-in-law, Mildred Mireles and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies and family. He loved woodworking and metal detecting. Fishing was a hobby as well as playing the guitar and singing. Wayne took time daily to read his Bible.
