Alberta Hunsucker

Alberta Lodema Rollins Hunsucker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, was called to heaven on November 24, 2011. Alberta was born on July 16, 1925 to the late Carrie Dee Blackwelder Rollins and Clarence Boyd Rollins. A lifetime resident of Concord, North Carolina, Alberta was a loyal member of West Concord Baptist Church. She was retired from Cannon Mills. She was a talented seamstress and knitter, who loved making beautiful things for her family and friends. For fifty-two years, she was the loving wife to Lonnie J. Hunsucker. In addition to her husband, Alberta is survived by her three children Judy Ann Furr Chunn and her husband Ted, Lonnie Joel Hunsucker and his wife Lynn, all of Concord, and Tamara Beth Hunsucker Kastler of Greenville, SC. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren who all loved their “Mamaw” dearly. Alberta is predeceased by her brother, Clarence Boyd Rollins, Jr. of Orlando, FL, her sister, Sarah Aileen Burgess of Kannapolis, NC, and her first husband, Fred Dickson Furr. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 pm Sunday, November 27th at Hartsell Funeral Home. The service will be immediately following at 4 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Farley of West Concord Baptist Church officiating. The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Michael and Todd Chunn of Concord, and Quentin and Evan Biles of Greenville, SC. The burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to West Concord Building Fund, 225 Warren C. Coleman Blvd., North, Concord, NC 28027.
