Alfred Lowder

Alfred Allen Lowder, 84 years of age, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Carolinas HealthCare System Stanly in Albemarle.

Alfred was born December 20, 1932 in Stanly County, North Carolina to the late Willie Lee Lowder and Bertha Maybelle Morton Lowder.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Allen Dale Lowder and a daughter, Brenda Kay Lowder.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Monday, August 28, 2017 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 29 at 1:00 pm at Hill Street Church of God in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Thomas Andrufski and Speaker Tommy Lowder. Burial will follow at the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle.

Survivors include his wife of 64 1/2 years, Carolyn Britt Lowder, two sons; Alfred Lowder Jr. and wife Malia and Randy Lowder and wife Misty; daughter, Linda Butler, two brothers; Melvin Lowder and wife Zerina and Jerry Lowder and wife Sue, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Alfred loved to hunt, fish and talking to people. He was a very devoted family man and loved working for the parks and recreation department for the city of Albemarle. Most importantly of all, he loved his little woman Mary and the rest of his family.
