Alice Blackwelder

Mrs. Alice Christine Blackwelder, 64, of 949 Marshall Drive in Concord, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis. She was born in Craven County to the late Mr. A.L. "Ott" Blackwelder, Sr. and Mildred "Milly" Hellen Blackwelder. A visitation will be held at Roberta United Methodist Church on Monday, August 16, 2010 from 1:30 until 2:30 pm. Funeral service will be at 3:00 in the sanctuary with Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Alice was a life long member of Roberta Untied Methodist Church. She worked as an assistant tax collector with the City of Concord and also worked at Allstate. She retired from Blackbuck Graphics She is survived by her husband, Lewis "Whitey" Blackwelder, of the home; son, Chris Blackwelder and wife, Crystal, of Concord; daughter, Shelly Harwood and husband, Brian, of Mt. Pleasant; brother, A.L. “Buzz” Blackwelder, Jr., of Carolina Shores; sister, Vivian Bennick, of Concord; grandchildren, Summer Blackwelder, Brianna and Maci Harwood. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care that Alice received by Dr. Ronald Pollack, Dr. Tomas Steffens, and their staff and also, to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
