Alice Megraw

Alice Claire Megraw, 100, of Concord, NC went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family on Monday, June 24, 2019.

Alice was born June 21, 1919 in Big Run, PA to the late Rev. Charles Elias Stahlman and the late Nettie Jane Stahlman.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Megraw; brother Charles Raymond Stahlman and sister Sarah Helen Shields; as well as son in law Manny Martin.

Survivors include her daughters, Jane Martin of San Antonio, TX; Sally Ann Norton and husband Doug of Denver, NC; son Robert Megraw, Jr. and wife Yoshiko of Erie, PA; niece Sara Sue Bauernschmidt of Batavia, IL; grandchildren Robert Athari, Marcus Athari and wife Judy, Christopher Athari; Adam Jones, Katherine Moore and husband Brian; Kelly McBride and Mary Keene; great grandchildren Alexander Jones, Olivia Jones, Jordyn Moore, Zachary Moore, Lyle Keene and Alauna Keene.

Alice was a lifetime member of Eastern Star.  She was an avid golfer who won several women's championships at Indian Lake Country Club in Shanksville, PA.  Alice was active in every church they attended, and was recently a part of the bell choir of Daytona Beach Shores Presbyterian Church.  She was best known for loving everyone she encountered, and being a caring and giving grandmother.  Alice loved all of her friends at Morningside of Concord where she lived for the last several years.  Even as her health declined, she continued to serve her friends and her Lord.  She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and loved her.

A memorial service to celebrate Alice's life will be on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 10:00 am at Parkwood Baptist Church, 1069 Central Dr. NW, Concord, NC 28027, officiated by Rev. Michael Waters and Pastor Steve Owenby of Westport Baptist Church in Denver, NC.  Burial will take place at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, PA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkwood Baptist Church, Women on Mission or Westport Baptist Church, He is Worthy Fund.
