Alice Harkey Preslar

Alice Harkey Preslar, 82, of Albemarle, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Alice was born May 31, 1942 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina to the late James Ernest Harkey and the late Minnie Elizabeth Harkey. 

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Harkey.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday, November 4, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Salem Methodist Church in Albemarle officiated by Rev. Neill Shaw. Burial will follow at the Salem Methodist Church Cemetery at 20987 NC 73 Hwy, Albemarle.

Survivors include husband of 62 years, Lee Smith Preslar of the home; children, Cindy Barbee (Corwin) of Albemarle, NC, Chuck Lee Preslar (Amy) of Albemarle, NC, and Chris Preslar (Laura) of Salisbury, NC; 7 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Alice loved to do anything with her hands - including sewing, quilting, baking, canning, and gardening. She loved going to church and her church family. She made a delicious banana pudding. Alice enjoyed spending time with her family camping and bird watching. 

Memorials may be made to Salem Methodist Church.
