Allen Ray Hathcock

April 6, 1970 — November 28, 2024

Concord

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, Allen Ray Hathcock, 54, took his first steps onto streets of gold in his Heavenly home. His first steps were running to Jesus, the Savior that he loved and served. He wasn’t expected to live to adulthood but God had other plans. His life was one miracle after another.

Allen was born April 6, 1970, in Concord to the late Clyde Allen Hathcock and Shirley Miller Hathcock. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ted and Ruth Hathcock, and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Marie Miller.

He loved his church New Grace Baptist Church and all the missionaries the church supported. He loved taking prayer requests via Facebook and praying over each one. He had his own weekly devotional on Facebook as well. His last devotional was about the daily benefits of knowing Christ. His days were filled with listening to his favorite pastors and churches online. One of his greatest joys was being “World’s Greatest Uncle” to all his nieces and nephews. Allen’s room was the favorite “hang out” for his nieces and nephews as they grew up and there were always new games and videos that Uncle Allen bought to entertain them.

Survivors include mother, Shirley Hathcock of Concord; brother, Wayne (Gwen) Hathcock of Concord; sister, Ann (William) Rich of Harrisburg; sister, Brenda (Kelly) Brown of Concord; nieces and nephews, Franklin Hathcock, Luke Hathcock, Hannah (Isaiah) Albert, Joseph Rich, Aaron Brown, Benjamin Brown, Samuel Rich, Ruth Hathcock, and Sarah Rich; and great-nephew, Asher Albert; and other extended family.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 1, 2024, at New Grace Baptist Church, 1160 Warren Coleman Blvd, Concord. The funeral service will be on Monday, December 2, 2024, at 10:00 am at New Grace Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Allen S. Montgomery. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis.

Memorials may be made to New Grace Baptist Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 567, Concord, NC 28026, or to the Spina Bifida Association of the Carolinas, https://www.spinabifidaassociation.org/chapter/sbancsc/
