Allene Votik

Allene June (Carter) Votik, age 80, of Charlotte, N.C., died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center - Main in Charlotte, N.C. Votik was self employed and was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, Charlotte. A Charlotte native, she was a 1947 graduate of Central High School, Charlotte, NC and later attended both Queens College and Meredith College. She was President of the North Carolina Society of Accountants. She was married to a loving husband, John Votik since 1951. The Lord has now received a wonderful, loving, intellegent, special, caring person whom we will all miss greatly. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, working puzzles, beach combing and challenging John to a good card game with her lucky candle. Born in Mecklenburg County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Harold Bozeman Carter and the late Allene Gertrude Harrison Carter. She was also preceded in death by a son Harold Carter Votik. She is survived by her husband John Carl Votik, Sr.; Daughter-Barbara Votik McElwey and husband Bob Daughter-Allene Votik Sigmon and husband Glenn Daughter In Law-Gina Votik Luckie and husband Steven Son-Carl Votik, Jr. and wife Barbara Sister-Rowena Warren Brother-James Carter Brother-Harold Carter Grandchildren-Chris McElwey, Daniel McElwey and wife Rachel, Catherine Sigmon, Mary Votik, Kayli Votik, Carter Votik and Annie Votik Step Grandchildren-Jim and Len Meier Arrangements are being handled by Hartsell Funeral Home - Midland, PO Box 100, Midland, N.C., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2009. Funeral service will be at Locust Presbyterian Church at 4:00 PM Saturday, June 13, 2009 . Interment will be at Locust Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Locust, N.C.
