Allon Thompson

Allon Harold Thompson, 78, of Albemarle, passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Mount Pleasant House.

He was born March 12, 1943 in Stanly County to the late Thomas Alexander Thompson Jr. and the late Helen Louise Burris. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Martin Thompson,William Stephen Thompson, and Robert Thompson.

Allon left High School in 1960 to join the U.S. Army Airborne at Ft. Bragg NC. After serving three years, he went back to school at South Stanly High and graduated class of 1964. He graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a BA in English in 1971. It was during the college years he was introduced to theatre and appeared in many plays and UNCC and CPCC and Playhouse dinner theatre. Next was a real estate license and affiliation with Colonial Realty. From Colonial, Allon joined CBS REalty with Jim Sweet until 2003. In 2003, Allon formed General Management Services. He had many interests and was in Numismatics (coin collecting), chess, performing arts, real estate, etc. He will be missed by many family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - 2:30 pm, Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 pm officiated by Rev. Don Burleyson.

Survivors include daughters, Tamara (Ted) Corvey, Deidra Thompson, Tiffany Thompson, Tawny (Ace Mckay) Stephens; step-father, Ted Burris; sister, Margaret (L. David) Hinson; grandchildren, Taylor Corvey, Alexis Corvey, Mia Stephens, and Ryan Stephens; sister-in-law, Sylvia Thompson; and wife, Sandra Hagler Thompson.
