Alma Benner

Alma May Prevo Benner age 95 of 5601 Timbertop Lane, Charlotte, NC, formerly of Oak Island and Albemarle, passed away Thursday, September 30, 2010 at White Oak Manor in Charlotte. She was born May 23, 1915 in Randolph County, NC to the late Jefferson Prevo and Annie Etta Smith Prevo. She was also preceded in death by her husband Sherman Edgar Benner; daughter, Linda Speights, 3 brothers and 1 sister. She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia McDuffie and husband Thomas of Fayetteville, NC and Elaine Nelms and husband Ted of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Louise Langley of Staley, NC, Marie Saunders of Statesville, NC; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, Oct 2, 2010 from 12- 2 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. Funeral service will be Oct 2, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Rev. Charlie Carter will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Albemarle. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, 3800 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC 28212.
