Alma Hassie Lowe Gardner, of 120 South Brown Street, Concord, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at The Brian Center in Concord. She was born on September 26, 1911 in Wilkes County to the late Luther Lowe and the late Laura Keller Lowe. Alma was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. A visitation will be held at on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9:30 until 10:30 am at Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Rev. Ron Bushey officiating. Burial will be at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church in Monroe. At other time, the family will be meeting at the home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Roy Gardner; sons, William York, Frank York, and Earl Gardner; daughter, Helen York. She is survived by son, Jimmy Gardner, of Alpharetta, GA; daughters, Frances McLemore, of Concord, Maxine Measimer, of Concord, Grace Asbury, of Monroe, Sarah Tucker, of Monroe, Kathryn McFarland, of Irmo, SC, Carolyn Capps, of Asheboro, and Wanda Russ, of Mt. Pleasant; 25 grandchildren; and 55 great grandchildren.
