Alma Kearns

Alma Rae Kearns, 99, formerly of Albemarle, NC. died peacefully early Sunday morning, October 8, 2017 at her home in Raleigh NC. with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Kearns was born on Thursday, November 15, 1917 in Albemarle, NC to the late Arthur R. and Ida Leonard Crowell.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Robert Milton Kearns.

On October 31, 1933 in Chesterfield, NC she married her beloved husband of 67 years, Robert M. Kearns who died on March 20, 2001. .

Mrs. Kearns is survived by her devoted son, Douglas (Peggy) Kearns of Raleigh, NC; 5 grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents; husband,1 brother and 1 sister.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church, 172 North 2nd Street Albemarle, NC. 28001 with Rev. Earl F. Bradshaw officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM on Friday in the church prior to services. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Park in Albemarle, NC.

Memorials contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Kearns to Central United Methodist Church, 172 North 2nd. Street Albemarle, NC. 28001 or to Transitions Hospice Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC. 27607 .

Alma will forever be missed by her loving and devoted family and many dear friends. May God grant her eternal rest.
