Alonzo Hinson

Alonzo Melton Hinson, 87 of Albemarle, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at CMC NorthEast, Concord. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm. The funeral service will follow the receiving in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel. Born September 22, 1925 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of the late Benjamin Harrison Hinson and the late Sarah Eudy Hinson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Dexter and daughter in law, Alfreda. He is survived by his wife, Fay Catherine Hathcock Hinson of the home; sons, Felix Hinson and wife Carolyn of Oakboro and Larry Hinson of Great Falls; and 6 grandchildren. He was owner and operator of Community Cleaners of Locust for 45 years. He attended Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Alonzo and Fay enjoyed Lake Tillery and their life together. He served in the US Army during WWII. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the family.
