Amanda Barbee

June 15, 1986 — August 17, 2016

Amanda Kendall Barbee, 30, of Monroe, passed away early Wednesday morning, August 17, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Main while her loving family stood by her side.

Amanda was born June 15, 1986 in High Point, NC, to Charles Harvey Kendall and Nancy Carol Epps Kendall of Harrisburg.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Henry Covington Kendall and Annie Harvey Kendall; and maternal grandfather, Percy V. Epps.

Amanda excelled in her academics by graduating in the top of her class at Central Cabarrus High School, earned a double major in business management and finance from NC State, obtained a masters degree in accounting from UNCC, and obtained her CPA license.

For nearly seven years, Amanda worked and progressed throughout the Duke Energy Accounting Department. She was admired for her work ethic, and loved for her amazing personality. Her smile and laughter were contagious among co-workers and the entire department.

Her true passion resided in their Monroe home, where she appreciated the simple things in life, spending time with her loving husband, watching a good movie and caring for her two cats. Her life can not be contained within a sheet of paper nor a collection of photographs, but her amazing spirit and never ending love continues to fill their beautiful home and the hearts of her friends and family. She selflessly cared for all around her, putting aside her own needs to support the loved ones that filled her life. Amanda was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, friend, and was adored by all who knew her.

In addition to her loving husband, Josh Barbee, she is survived by her parents, Charlie and Nancy Kendall; brother, Taylor Kendall of Harrisburg; maternal grandmother, Jean Raden Epps of Concord; cats, Milton and Kitty; in-laws, Thomas and Shirley Barbee of Locust; and brother-in-law, Brad Barbee of Baltimore, MD.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Locust. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary officiated by Rev. Dr. Tommy Ross. Burial will follow at the Lakeland Memorial Park at 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe. At other times, the family will be gathering at their home.

Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Union County, PO Box 101, Monroe, NC 28112.
