Amos Starnes, Jr

“A W” Amos Wilson Starnes, Jr., 64, of Concord, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Tucker Hospice House. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord on Wednesday, July 18, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Thomas Gibbs and Rev. William Patrick will be held in the Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery. Military honors will be performed by Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. At other times the family will meet at his home. A W was born on March 5, 1948, to the late Amos Wilson Starnes, Sr. and the late Margaret Louise Galyan Starnes. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Roxanne Pressley Starnes; a son, Travis Starnes of Concord; a daughter, Tracey Tanner of Kannapolis; a step-son, Justin Lejeune of Concord; a brother, Larry Starnes of Statesville; a sister, Wilma Kiker of Concord; three grandchildren, Jacklyn and Brittany Tanner of Fayetteville and Daffney Yarborough of Mt.
