Amy Marie Fritz

Amy Marie Fritz, 89, of Charlotte, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis, NC.

Amy was born October 17, 1935 in Kawasaki, Japan, to the late Nemesio Cruz and the late Mitsuko Ueda.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Fritz and son, Christopher John Fritz.

Amy was a beloved, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Japan, raised in Shanghai, China where she was educated in a Catholic School learning English from French nuns. Her love of music comes from her father who was a musician and bandleader. She met John in Japan during the Korean War. They later married, raised 3 children and lived in NJ for over 50 years. She loved to garden and decorate which was reflected in her beautiful home in NJ. She was the best cook not only in Asian dishes but learning western cuisine ranging from Italian to American. She loved her pets beginning with Corky the family dog, parakeets (Kero, Bluebird), and cats (Kitty, Bridget, Baby). She would feed the stray cats and roaming peacocks in the neighborhood. Always curious, she enjoyed discussing current events, politics, arts, and anything of life in general. 

She is survived by daughter, Shina Fritz (Dale) of Santa Monica, CA; son, Dana Fritz of Charlotte, NC; daughter-in-law Bonnie Fritz; Grandsons, Michael (Ivon) and Mathew: and Sister, Yuriko (Peter).
