Amy Rutledge

Amy Christine Rutledge, age 29, of Charlotte, went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 9, 2021.

Amy was born on a beautiful spring day, March 30, 1992 in Charlotte to John Clifton Rutledge Jr. and June Collins Rutledge of Harrisburg.

Amy graduated from High School in 2010 and studied at Appalachian State University. She enjoyed working with all the staff and patients in registration at Atrium Health.  Amy enjoyed a broad range of music & movies, Minnesota Vikings football and spending time with friends & family. The Blue Ridge mountains were special to Amy and her family and she always enjoyed her time there. Amy was an old soul and often brought a smile to many of the senior adults in her church. Amy will be remembered for her beautiful smile, fun personality & sense of humor. She will also be remembered for the brave determination she exhibited while struggling with Type 1 diabetes and multiple health issues.  Most of all, Amy was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter and special friend to many.  She will be dearly missed and forever loved.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John & Betsey Rutledge, Sr. In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her brother, Michael Rutledge of Charlotte, and maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Collins of Concord, Uncles Sam Collins (MaeNell) of Concord, Noel Collins (Sharon) of Charlotte, Scott Collins (Karen) of Dazell, SC, Aunts Betty McDermott (Mike) of Kansas City, MO and Ann Broadway (Michael) of Chapel Hill. She also leaves behind her beloved dog & friend, Church.

The service in celebration of Amy's life will be private and officiated by Reverend Mike Toney of University Hills Baptist Church. Amy will be laid to rest at Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens, Charlotte.  Amy's funeral service was webcasted at: http://video.ibm.com/recorded/130794249
