Ana Lidia Sosa passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at the age of 91, in the city of Harrisburg, NC.
Ana Lidia Sosa was born on March 31, 1932 in Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic. Her father was Francisco Sosa and her mother was Consuelo Severino.
Lidia had four children, one of whom died on April 20, 2023, Dorka Concepcion Sosa. Those left to cherish her memory include her 3 children: Paulina Concepcion Wingate, Genry Concepcion Sosa and Raquel Concepcion Sosa; 9 grandchildren, Geryolph, Hersy, Lou Jeremy (LJ), Alejandro (Alex), Michael, Pauline, Angerica, Rachelle, Geanna (Gigi); three great-grandchildren, Kaylin, Lauren and Mael; and many other brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Lidia dedicated and symbolized her life to Jehovah when she was baptized at the “Fruit of the Spirit” District Assembly on July 18, 1964 while 6 months pregnant with Dorka. Once she knew the truth, she remained firm and faithful to Jehovah always. As a result of her illness, she forgot many things but she never forgot god’s name, Jehovah and she called out to him right before passing away.
The service of God was the center of her life. She enjoyed reading the Bible and biblical literature. Lidia is remembered as an excellent example in attending meetings, who regardless of the distance, heat, rain, cold or her economic condition, she never missed or stopped participating in them. She is also remembered for her zeal in the ministry demonstrating her pioneer spirit.
Lidia was very hospitable, like the Lidia mentioned in the Bible, that is why her house was always available to the brothers, providing them with accommodation and food because for her the brothers were her family.
Everyone who knew her, remembers her as a selfless mother who always cared for, educated and taught the truth to her children.
Among her hobbies were knitting, sewing, remodeling all her clothes to her liking, cooking and listening to Chayanne.
Without a doubt our sister Lidia was an excellent example for her family and acquaintances. We love you mom, grandmother, friend, we will carry you in our hearts and miss you until we see you again!
