Andrew Gariety

Andrew James Gariety, age 26 of Albemarle, passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle on Tuesday, September 11 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 12 at 11:00 AM, officiated by Rev. Phillip Hunter and Rev. Wayne Bennett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Gariety was born in Bexar County, TX on November 12 1985, to Norbert Francis Gariety, Jr. and Katherine Ann Anderson Gariety of Monroe. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife Ria Lee Eudy Gariety; one daughter Joannah Marie Gariety; and one son, Hayden James Gariety, all of the home; three sisters, Michelle Hover of KS, Rebecca Pennington of UT and Ruth Ann Jorgensen of CA; three brothers, William Thomas Gariety of VT, Jerry Dean Gariety of TX, Norbert Frances Gariety, II of NC. Mr. Gariety was a 2004 graduate of Weddington High School and had earned an Eagle Scout Award. He was a member of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. He served as a Stanly County detention officer for 4 years and was currently serving as a deputy sheriff. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Gariety family.
