Anita Miller Almond, 67 years of age, of New London, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System NorthEast in Concord.
Mrs. Almond was born April 2, 1949 to the late Edward Lewis and Johnsie Louise Miller. Anita loved to visit the beach as well as shop local thrift stores in search of antiques. She always enjoyed reading and was an active member of her church.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Hartsell Funeral Home-Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Kendalls Baptist Church-New London, 32157 Kendalls Church Road, officiated by Pastor Christian Herring. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include: husband, Jerry Almond;, daughter, Anne and husband David McLendon; son, John Almond; grandchildren, Madeline and Ross Watson; brother, Steve and wife Shelia Miller of Sanford and her beloved dog Mike.
Memorials may be made to Kendalls Baptist Church, 32157 Kendalls Church Road, New London.
