Anita Carter

Anita Elizabeth Carter, 69, of Lexington, NC passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

Anita was born February 12, 1953 in Concord, NC to the late Edward Smoot Clay and the late Jessie Elizabeth Clay.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Thomas Edward Dixon; and her first husband, Johnny Carter.

Survivors include son, Phillip Wayne Carter and girlfriend Jennifer Dalton of Lexington, NC; daughter, Tamara Annette Carter and husband Shawn Byrd of Lexington, NC; granddaughter, Brittany Morgan; grandson, Martin Morgan; granddaughter, Kelly Wyatt; granddaughter, Katelyn Anderson; grandson, Justin Carter; granddaughter, Savannah Brandon; granddaughter, Beverly Whitley; great grandchildren, Kenzie, Lacey, Phillip, Ayden, Natalie, Gavin, Braxton, Landyn, Zoey, Crispin and Levi; brother, Ronnie Clay; sister, Betty Campbell and best friend, Dollie Parnell.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm  in the funeral home chapel, officiated by Rev. Randy Tucker.  Burial will take place at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
