Annie Hatley Efird of Poplar Tent Road, Concord, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at The Haven, Highland Creek, NC. She was preceded in death by husband, Carl Ray Efird, Sr.; father,William Haston Hatley; mother, Mary Jane Harwood Hatley; daughter, Peggy Hatley; four brothers and 5 sisters. Visitation at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, Friday, Nov. 27, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service Saturday, Nov. 28, 4:00 p.m. officiated by Elder Larry Austin, at Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church where she was a member. There will be a 30 minute state prior to the service. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Survivors include son, Carl Ray Efird, Jr., and wife Twila, of Oakridge, Tennessee; sister, Bessie Cauble of Albemarle; grandchildren, Rod Hatley, Wendy Locklear, Patricia Efird, Elizabeth Efird; great grandchildren, Debin Hatley, Shania Locklear, Erin Mullen, Megan Mullen, and Kelly Mullen. Memorials may be sent to Liberty Hill Primitive Baptist Church Building Fund, 20415 Hwy. 24/27, Oakboro, NC 28129. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the family.
