Annie Hatley

Annie Lee Smith Hatley, 87 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Annie was born July 16, 1927 in Stanly County to the late David Sylvester Smith and the late Mamie Elizabeth Barbee Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Wade Hampton Hatley, who passed away in 2013; son, Wallace Allen Hatley; brother, Aaron Winfred Smith.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, June 1, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Midland. The funeral service, officiated by Rev. Bruce League and Rev. Dr. Kinney Wallace, will be at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Stanfield, Hwy. 200 North. She will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be gathering at the home of her son, Don Hatley, 118 Oak Grove St. in Locust.
She is survived by her sons, Donald Lee Hatley and wife, Myra, and James Wayne Hatley and wife, Dedria all of Locust; daughter, Judy Tucker and special friend Larry Clements of Oakboro; Jewel Thompson and special friend Jerry Morris; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
