Annie Louise Jones Hoover, 89, of Harrisburg passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at St. Andrew’s Assisted Living Center.

Annie Louise was born June 23, 1928 in Duplin County, NC to the late Dallas E. Jones, Sr. and Sallie Barwick Jones. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jonas Wayne Hoover (Oct 1993), son, Ronald (Ronnie) Wayne Hoover (June 2014), sisters, Hazel Holland, Roberta Chesnutt, Pauline Cottle and brothers, Henderson Jones, Dallas Jones, Jr.

Annie Louise was devoted to her family, friends and church, being a faithful member of Harrisburg United Methodist Church for over 45 years, she was active as a part of the United Methodist Women and various other committees. She was very involved in the community, in the Cabarrus County Republican Women, Cabarrus County Meals on Wheels for over 20 years, Harrisburg Lions Club, and was instrumental in starting the first home extension club in Harrisburg. She was an accomplished seamstress and was also well known for her baking of bread and cakes, as well as her many talents including gardening, basketry, and quilting.

A graveside service was held for Annie Louise on Saturday, November 4, at 11:00 am in Devotional Gardens Cemetery in Warsaw, NC. A memorial service will be held today, Sunday, November 5, at 2:00 pm at Harrisburg United Methodist Church on Hwy 49 in Harrisburg with Rev. Wes Smith and Rev. Toni Ruth Smith officiating. Visitation will follow the service.

Survivors include her daughter, Andrea Hoover Blankenship and husband Lee of Concord, daughter-in-law, Jo L. Hoover of Canton, GA. Grandchildren, Amanda Hoover Donovan and husband Zac, Robert, Andrew and Larissa Blankenship. Step-grandchild, Penny Aversano. Great-grandchildren, Cooper and Emerson Donovan. Step great-grandchildren Brandy and Cameron Bryant. Sisters, Sally Herring, Carolyn Kimrey and husband Joel. Sister-in-law Kathleen Hoover, as well as many nieces and nephews.
