Annie Ruth “Sue” Kent, 81 years of age, of Concord, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
Mrs. Kent was born April 6, 1936 in South Carolina to the late Clyde Hendrix Scott and the late Essie Scott. She was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Johnnie Roberson, and her brothers Roscoe Scott, Bill Scott, and Harold Scott.
Mrs. Kent was retired from a long career at General Motors in the insurance division. She was a long time member at Pitts Baptist Church, where she was active in her Sunday School class.
The family will receive friends from 1- 3 pm, Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd., NW, Concord. The funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 3 pm at the church officiated by Rev. Scott Davis. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Harrisburg at 12025 University City Blvd., Charlotte.
Survivors include her husband, George Kent of Concord, son, Barry (Dawn) Roberson of Monroe, granddaughters Wendy (Will) Linker and Kelly (Jeremy) Cairns, and 4 great-grandchildren.
