Annie Lunsford

Mrs. Annie Mae Dennis Lunsford, 92, of 1479 White Oak Avenue, Albemarle, passed away Friday, February 18, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Her funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle, NC, with Rev. Ronald Thompson officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Poplin’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Born in Columbia, SC on May 3, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Dennis, Sr. and the late Minnie Owen Dennis. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Howard Lunsford, sons Gary L. Lunsford and Ted Lunsford, sister Viola Dennis Russell, and brothers Thomas Jefferson Dennis, Jr., Samuel Dennis, Ben Dennis and Daniel Dennis. Mrs. Lunsford was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and spending time with her family. Prior to her decline in health she attended Albemarle Wesleyan Church for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Lunsford Crisco of Albemarle, NC, granddaughter Deborah Lee Lunsford of Jacksonville, Fl, grandson Mark Durant Crisco of Chicago, Il, granddaughter Cynthia Crisco Horton (husband Larkin) of Albemarle, NC and great grandsons, Larkin Tyler Horton and James Durant Horton of Albemarle.
