Annie Mccann

Annie Lou Harris McCann, 89, of Harrisburg, NC passed away Monday, August 23, 2021.

Mrs. McCann was born November 16,1931 to the late Ephraim Harris and Betty Viola Woods Harris.

The family will receive friends Friday August 27, from 6:00-7:30 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg. A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 28 at 11:00 am at Grassy Knob Baptist Church Cemetery, 333 Grassy Knob Road, Union Grove, NC.

Mrs. McCann is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Carlie McCann, her son, James Carlie McCann II “Jay”, as well as her beloved dog Tinkerbell.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Riley (Jim) of Virginia Beach, VA; Diane Czachorowski (John) of Concord NC; Lynn Guffey (Jack) of Isle of Palms, SC. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Kuruc (Greg), Nicki Pelone, Catherine Hill (Ryan), Olivia Burris, James McCann III and Matthew McCann (Megan), Mackenzi Guffey and Will Guffey and great grandchildren, Louise, Harris and Mae Kuruc.

She worked at UNCC and Harrisburg Presbyterian Daycare in her early adulthood, but her primary focus was being a homemaker who loved her family dearly.  She enjoyed camping at the beach, fishing, gardening, and canning her vegetables. She also enjoyed visiting with others, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, and hosting/going to family reunions. Mrs. McCann will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
