Annie Ruth “Bobbie” Poplin Smith, age 79, of Albemarle, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at her home. The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The funeral service will be in Hartsell Funeral Home’s Lefler Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Leslee Wray will officiate and the burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory. Born April 30, 1933 in Stanly County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Rufus John Poplin and the late Eliza Fronia Whitley Poplin. She is survived by her son, Chris Smith of Oakboro; daughter, Donna Fesperman and husband Tim of Locust; sister, Hazeline Herrin of Charlotte; two granddaughters, Lauren Griffin and husband Daniel of Stanfield and Lynn Thomas and husband Clint of Locust; 2 great grandchildren, Addison Griffin and Davis Griffin. She was self employed as a hairdresser at Professional Beauty Salon and a member of First Street United Methodist Church, Albemarle. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N.
