Arlie Whitley

Arlie Carol Whitley, 82 years of age, of Stanfield, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mr.Whitley was born March 26, 1935 to the late Lonnie Alexander and Ila Mae Connell Whitley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Mae Whitley and one son, Danny Lynn Whitley.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Harmony Baptist Church, 101 Willow Street, Stanfield. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jimmie Bartley. Burial will conclude in the First Baptist Cemetery located at 320 South Central Avenue, Locust.

At other times, the family will be gathering at his home.

Survivors include his son, Carol Lee (Jane) Whitley of High Point; his daughter, Brenda Whitley (Marvin) Smith of Locust; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Arlie's church family for their love and support.
