Arminda Colon

Arminda Alvarez Colon, 92, of Concord, NC , formerly of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, New York City and Deltona, FL, peacefully passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020.

Arminda (Tata) was born November 11, 1927 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to the late Gabino Alvarez and the late Celeste Goty Alvarez.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Colon; her two children Norma Poetzl and John Andrades; sisters, Alicia and Josefina; and brother, Alberto.

Survivors include her son, Paul Colon and wife Theresa of Concord, NC; grandchildren, Alysha, Amber, Ethan, Wanda, Andreas, Monica, Tanya, John and Andre; as well as many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Eledora; and a loving extended family of nieces, nephews and friends.

Arminda was a loving individual who loved her family and friends dearly.  She enjoyed cooking and feeding all those who came to her home.  Arminda felt foremost that we all should be kind to our friends, family and community.  She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM  - 12:00 PM, on Friday, January 17th, 2020, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord, 460 Branchview Dr., Concord, NC 28025.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM at Salisbury National Cemetery at 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC.
