Mrs. Audrey Vondell Green Carter, 83, of Concord, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Brian Center. She was born on February 13, 1927 in Cabarrus County to the late Homer Green and the late Elma Downum Green. She was a member of Broadus Baptist Church and a retired sales clerk from the former Pikes Drug Store. She also worked at Cannon Mills Company and the former Fleetwood Pharmacy. She enjoyed traveling. A visitation will be held at Hartsell Funeral Home Concord on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 12:00 until 1:30 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Rodney Quesenberry officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. At other times, the family will be meeting at the home. She is preceded in death by brothers, DeWitt, Chester "Dick", Claude, Melvin, and Don Green and sisters, Daisy Auten, Arlie Burnette, Martha Joyner, and Mary Lou Green. She is survived by her husband, Billy Hugh Carter, of the home; brothers, Mack Green, of Concord, Edward "Buck" Green and wife, Irene, of Concord, Homer "Jack" Green and wife, Faye, of Concord, and Everette Green and wife Jerri, of Concord; sister, Ethel Little and husband, Vernon, of Concord, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The nephews will serve as all pall bearers. The family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Brian Center for the loving care that Mrs. Carter received during her residency. Memorials may be made to Broadus Memorial Baptist Church, 59 Green Street SW, Concord, NC 28027. Hartsell Funeral Home of Concord is serving the Carter family.
