Auta Hatley

Auta Mae Hatley, 88, of 12329 Hazard Road, Oakboro, NC passed away on April 27, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 28 from 6-8 PM at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. At other times the family will meet at her home. The service will be held Friday, April 29 at 1 PM at Barbee’s Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Phillip Smith, Rev. Terry Burris and Rev. Lowell Brown will officiate the services. Mrs. Hatley was born in Stanly County on August 29, 1922 to the late Lester and Garrie Tarlton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Charles Hatley; and one grandchild. During her life, she enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers. Mrs. Hatley is survived by her sons, Charles Hampton Hatley and wife Jewell of Oakboro, James Thomas Hatley of Albemarle, David Edgar Hatley and wife Jane of Oakboro; daughters, Ruth Elizabeth Troutman of Albemarle, Bobbie Kay Galloway and husband Cecil of Mount Holly; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Hatley family.
