Autrey Eugene “Tinker†Hinson, 69, of Reed Mine Road, Midland, passed away March 20, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Hinson was born March 5, 1941, in Stanly County, to Hubert and Edna Mae Coley Hinson who preceded him in death. A brother, Ovid Hinson, and sisters Cillar Hodgin, Josephine Hinson, and Clara Stone also preceded him in death. He served in the U. S. Army and was a retired Operation Manager for Yellow Freight in Charlotte. He attended Carolina Presbyterian Church in Locust where he had many close friends. His life was devoted to music and singing. He is likely remembered most for singing bass in the Locust Quartet. The funeral service will be Tuesday, 11:00 a.m., at Carolina Presbyterian, Locust, with a 30 minute state, Rev. Patrick Womack officiating. Burial will be at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. Military graveside rites will be presented by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12. The family will meet at the home of daughter, Amber, at 5664 David Lane, Stanfield. There is no scheduled visitation Survivors include daughters Amber Hinson Burris and husband, Dean, of Stanfield and Akia, Autrice, and Arielle Allison of Concord; grandchildren Logan and Matthew Burris, Zarriya York, and Aryai Allison; brothers Bill Hinson of FL, H.
