Avis Frowline Huneycutt, 88, of Albemarle, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024 at Trinity Place in Albemarle.
Avis was born June 7, 1936 in South Carolina to the late Henry Lee Wilson and the late Ethel Wilson.
She was also preceded in death by husband Robert Thomas Huneycutt; sisters, Joyce Welch, Jennette Sasser, Estelle Talbert; brothers, Cecil Wilson and Robert Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:45 pm, Friday, August 30, 2024 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Friday at 2:00 pm at Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, officiated by Pastor Johnny Holt and Pastor Reggie Hinson. Burial will follow at Stanly Gardens of Memory at 2001 East Main St., Albemarle.
Avis was a wonderful, loving, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Avis loved the Lord and going to church. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially going on trips to the beach. Avis had a special place in her heart for her only grandson, Wesley, whom she loved dearly. Avis was a very hard worker, and gave her all in everything she did. She had a great sense of discernment and could find the good in everyone she met.
Survivors include son, Scottie (Melissa) Huneycutt; grandson, Wesley Thomas Huneycutt; sisters, Ruby (Leo) Humphrey, Shirley (Ralph) Lambert, Leona Little, and Margie (Norvard) Williams; brother, Carrol Wilson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, 1002 Wiscassett Street, Albemarle, NC.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Trinity Place and Tillery Compassionate Care for all that they had done for Avis, and to Kathy Bishop Humphrey, Avis' special friend for always being by her side.
