Barbara Whitley

Barbara  Whitley, 79, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Mrs. Whitley was born August 23, 1943 in Union County, North Carolina to the late Amos Joel Benton and the late Rossie Elizabeth Price Benton.
She was also preceded in death by her son Mike Furr, her sister Nelta Yow, brothers, Jayhue Benton, Grady Benton, Eddie Benton, Amos Benton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at New Hope Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary with the Reverend Roger Bostick officiating. Burial will follow at the Cabarrus Memorial Gardens at 3892 Hwy 73 , Concord.

Survivors include husband, Calvin Phillip Whitley of Mount Pleasant, NC. daughters, Cindy Medlin (Scott) of Stanfield NC,  Pam Smith(Scottie) of Oakboro NC. Grandchildren, Leigh Ann Coley, Hailey Smith, Derek Furr, Tyler Medlin, Ashley Smith, Mallory Harvey, Emily Smith, Dalton Whitley, Graham Whitley. Great grandchildren, Andrea, Andrew, Everett, Parker, Payton, Aubrey, Violet, Ada, and Ally.
