Barbara Darbutt

Barbara Jane Scott Darbutt, 66, of Kannapolis, NC, went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

Barb was born April 20, 1952 in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Joseph Oscar Scott and the late Mary Louise Saunders Scott.

Barb received an associate's degree from IUPUI.  She attended Indiana State University, where she met her future husband.  Barb was a sister in the Psi Iota Xi Sorority.  She loved her career working as a children's librarian in Lebanon IN, librarian Danville IL, and branch librarian Highlands TX.  Barb was a devoted member and active volunteer of cfa church.  She was a lover of books and literature.  Barb also enjoyed jewelry making, traveling and christian music.

The family includes husband of 46 years, David Edward Darbutt; son, Adam Scott (Amber) Darbutt of Mount Pleasant, NC; son, Gregory Joseph (Lindsay) Darbutt of Concord, NC; brother, Robert Joseph (Sue) Scott of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren, Keeley Shea Darbutt, Kinsey Mae Darbutt, Caleb Robert David Darbutt, Alex Joseph Darbutt, Jacob Gregory Darbutt, Haylee Jane Darbutt, Elijah Darbutt and Isaiah Darbutt; and dogs, Ellie and Lillie.

A service in celebration of Barb's life will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at CFA church, 280 Concord Parkway S, Suite 5, Concord, NC, officiated by Pastor Gwen Stowers.  The family will receive friends during the celebration after party at Suite 5.  Please dress casual.
